There are probably a few things you associate with September: the breathtaking foliage, your favorite shows starting back up, and the return of pumpkin spice lattes. But, if you’re a California native, or looking for an excuse to get away for the weekend, it’s also California Wine Month. Here’s where you can sip on some tasteful blends throughout the Golden State.
Ramona Ranch Vineyard and Winery
Head to Southern California, specifically to San Diego, for a glass or two of this handcrafted wine at Ramona Ranch. Make sure to try their many award-winning wines, and they will also have a special Italian grape tasting at the end of the month.
Featuring over 15 wineries and local restaurants, this showcase happening in Temecula on September 29 can’t be missed. This year, the Monte De Oro winery is hosting, and there will be live entertainment among the dozens of winemakers featuring their select blends.
Vina Robles Vineyards & Winery
Drive to Santa Barbara next to visit Vina Robles for their Summer Grill & Chill happening on September 15. The day features executive chef, Randal Torres, and his summer menu on the Petite Terrace. The month also has plenty of concerts happening at their very own Amphitheatre.
Madera Wine Trail
As one of the oldest wine regions, the Madera Wine Trail (south of Yosemite National Park) features 10 wineries with events occurring throughout the month of September. Experience all the history and good tasting wine the trail has to offer by heading to Madera County this year!
A Michelin Star chef, a Michael Jackson tribute performance, and private tours and tastings, the Harvest Ball in Napa Valley is a must-do. The ball itself is black-tie and held at V. Sattui Winery, but there are other events occurring throughout the weekend for wine lovers to enjoy.
