Ah winter—it’s a beautiful season of sparkling snow, snuggling under blankets, and, last but not least, dry skin.
There’s no denying the fact that chilly winter air can make our skin extremely dry this time of year, and besides exfoliating and loading up on store-bought lotions that can make the problem worse, most of us ride out the dry skin season until a welcome breath of spring air steps in to make it all better.
Instead of suffering through, make these luxurious lotion bars that (bonus) work as a moisturizing massager, too! They’re full of helpful ingredients like beeswax and essential oils to combat even the worst rough skin.
- ½ cup coconut oil
- ½ cup shea butter
- ½ cup beeswax
- Wooden chopstick/popsicle stick
- Lotion bar mold(s)
- Fill a saucepan with 2–3 inches of water, and place a glass jar in the center of the pot. Bring the water to a boil.
- Add all of the lotion bar ingredients into the jar, and stir with the wooden stick. Pour the mixture evenly into each mold, and set aside to cool.
- Once the bars have hardened, remove from the mold and massage into dry skin.
