In fact, they even make the ideal DIY window box. Follow these simple steps to create a farmhouse window box that will surely transform the exterior of your house.
- Depending upon the size of your windows, choose either one long tub or two shorter tubs.
- Using a power drill, drill holes every 3–4 inches along the bottom of your tub, to allow for drainage.
- Fill with potting soil and flowers of your choice.
Tip: the exterior of houses varies. You can either purchase a bracket, or attach hooks to the exterior of the window. To determine the best way to hang your window box, speak with a representative at your local hardware store.
