Take a trip to Zwaanendael Museum, which was built in celebration of the 300^th anniversary of Delaware’s first European settlement: a Dutch whaling community, Swanendael, which was founded in 1631. The museum building is an adaptation of Swanendael’s city hall, located in Hoorn, Holland. You can also take a trip to Cannonball House, which was hit with a cannonball during the War of 1812. The building still houses the original cannonball.

If you’re looking for some more nautical fun, visit the Lightship Overfalls, a floating lighthouse built in 1938 and moved to Lewes in 1973. You can take a tour though the lighthouse and learn about the people who worked on the ship during the 1900s.
