If you’ve ever tried to create a swirl pattern on an Easter egg with store-bought dye, you know how challenging—if not impossible—the task can be. But who would have thought with a little whipped cream and food coloring you could create your very own marbled effect in no time?

This fool-proof egg dying hack is one the kids will love to do too, since they get to play in whipped cream!

Directions:

1. Coat the eggs with vinegar in a bowl. Add a 3-inch layer of whipped topping to the baking pan, making sure that the whipped topping is leveled out.
2. Add 8–10 drops of food coloring to the top of the whipped topping, and do the same with the remaining colors. Slowly swirl the colors together for a minute or so.
3. Gently place an egg onto the top of mixture, and then roll the egg along the top with a spoon until it is entirely coated. Place the egg aside.
4. Add a few more drops of food coloring to the Cool Whip, and coat another egg. Repeat this with your remaining eggs.
5. Refrigerate in a covered container for 4–12 hours. Remove from fridge, and very gently rub the whipped topping off the eggs with a paper towel.
