3 Ways To Upcycle Your Old Sweaters
Think twice about trashing or donating those old sweaters—they could easily be refashioned into pieces that will accessorize your look! The following three ideas couldn’t be easier; there’s no sewing required!
Materials
Knitted Headband
Cut the neck of a turtleneck sweater off, and fold in half to wear as a headband. For additional style, embellish with a fabric flower (which can also be made out of sweater scraps), buttons, ribbons, or any material using a needle and thread.
Cozy Legwarmers
Cut the sleeves off a sweater, and you have instant legwarmers or boot socks! If they are too baggy, turn them inside out and find the seam. Pull the sides of the seam together and sew below the old seam to your desired tightness. Turn the sleeves rightside out again to hide the seam.
Infinity Scarf
Cut the sweater from armpit to armpit, to remove the top and sleeves. Fold a small amount of fabric from the cut edge inside and sew for a neat edge. Wrap around neck twice.
