Waffle Iron Turkey Sandwich
We thought the turkey and cheese sandwich was getting a little boring, so to spice things up we threw away our white bread in favor of a rosemary and cheddar infused waffle… we think you’ll approve.
Makes 2–4 sandwiches
Ingredients: For the waffle
Ingredients: For the sandwich
Instructions:
- Heat up the waffle iron, and spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place all of the dry waffle ingredients into a bowl and lightly whisk to just combine. Add in the eggs and vegetable oil, and mix. Allow the batter to rest for a few minutes.
- Once the iron is hot, use a measuring cup to pour about ½ cup of batter into the center of the iron (make sure the batter spills over into all four areas). Press the iron down, and cook until golden-brown.
- One the waffle is done cooking, carefully remove from the iron, and transfer to a plate. Spread your favorite sandwich spread (e.g. mayo, honey mustard, sriracha), onto one half of the waffle, layer on the cheese, and finally, the turkey.
Tip: if you like your cheese extra melty, place the sandwich back onto the iron, and press again for one minute.
