Fresh fruit is one of the best parts of summer, and emulating the vibrant colors of summer fruit in home decorating has become extremely popular in recent years!
Combine your love of fruit with fun decorating by making these DIY coasters you can use all season long.
- For watermelon: Paint a thin green line around the perimeter of the cork, followed by a thin white line. Fill in the center with pink paint, and, once dry, finish with a few teardrops shaped black dots in the center for seeds.
- For orange: Paint a thin white line around the perimeter of the cork, with another small circle in the center. Draw six white lines radiating out from the center. Once dry, fill in the empty spaces with orange paint.
- For kiwi: Paint a thin yellow line around the perimeter of the cork, and fill in the rest of the circle with pale green by mixing the green and white paint together. Allow to dry, and then paint a small white circle in the center, with a few thin black lines radiating outward.
- For lemon: Paint a thin yellow line around the perimeter of the cork, followed by a thin white line. Draw another small circle in the center of the cork, with thin white lines radiating outward. Allow to dry, and fill in the empty space with yellow. Once dry, paint a few white teardrop-shaped dots in the middle of each wedge.
