Four Frighteningly Fun Haunted Houses

Halloween | By Jennafer Benvenuto | 4 Likes

For Halloween-lovers, visiting a haunted house is a highly-anticipated tradition. Whether you prefer dramatized cinematic effects or traditional ghosts and goblins, visiting any one of these four attractions will surely send a shiver down your spine this season.

Scary clown in front of blue and purple spiderweb lights

Woods of Terror: Greensboro, North Carolina
Sure, hiking is a blast, but through a trail that consists of monsters and clowns? Visitors better hang on tight. Set on 20 acres, Woods of Terrors has multiple attractions that tap into your biggest fears—spiders, total darkness, and graveyards—just to name a few.

Tickets can be purchased either online or at the door, and it runs from September 15–November 4.

Door to building with green light and sign that reads

Dark Manor Haunted House: Norwich, Connecticut
Voted Connecticut’s Number One Scariest Haunted House, Dark Manor certainly doesn’t disappoint. Comprised of three attractions—The Dark Manor, The Graveyard, and The Catacombs—visitors must meander (on foot) through 25 rooms to find their way out.

This haunted attraction runs from September 29–October 31, and tickets can be purchased either online or at the door.

Dead End Hayride: Wyoming, Minnesota
Situated in the pitch-black woods of Pinehaven Farm, the Dead End Hayride offers multiple ways—a hayride, trail, and cornfield—to be spooked. As visitors make their way through the woods, they’ll encounter countless spooky characters and various special effects.

Both general admission and fast pass tickets can be purchased online. The attraction runs from September 22–October 31.

Inside of haunted house

Georgetown Morgue Haunted House: Seattle, Washington
What’s creepier than a haunted attraction that takes place in a historic morgue? Trust us, not much. As visitors make their way through narrow corridors and abandoned janitorial quarters, they’ll come into close contact with terrifying lights, sounds, and characters.

Skip the lines, and purchase tickets online. The haunted house runs from September 22–November 4.
