Make Your Own Marbled Mugs
The marbling trend has been popular on Pinterest and in the crafting world for a while, but this DIY technique doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. It’s relatively simple to turn your favorite ceramics into a marbled masterpiece. Here’s how to do it!
Materials
Directions:
- Fill the large plastic container halfway with hot water.
- Holding the nail polish bottle very close to the surface of the water, delicately pour a few drops into the center of the container. You can repeat this step with multiple colors, if you wish. Carefully swirl the colors together with a toothpick.
- Dip your mug into the center of the nail polish pool, and twist it around in a circular motion. (It’s important to act quickly and confidently for the marbling to stick properly.)
- Hold your mug upright out of the water for a minute to allow the water to drip off, and place paint side up on a paper towel to dry.
Tip: if you are unhappy with how your design turned out, wipe it away with acetone, and try again!
