If you’ve ever watched a movie and thought, “I wonder what that place looks like in real-life?” You’re in luck! There are a handful of filming locations throughout the country that you can actually visit!

christmas story house tour

A Christmas Story House (Cleveland, OH)
Everyone’s favorite holiday film, A Christmas Story, may have been based in Indiana, but the real filming location is actually at 3159 W. 11th St. in Cleveland. Tours are open all year, seven days a week, and the home is stocked with all kinds of memorabilia from the film, including some of the original costumes.

field of dreams field image

Field of Dreams Baseball Field (Dyersville, IA)
The baseball diamond from the famous 1989 movie is still kept in pristine condition at the farm it was originally built on. In addition to playing on the field, visitors can stop at the gift shop and take a tour through the Kinsella’s’ farmhouse.

rocky statue

Rocky (Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA)
The ultimate underdog story, Rocky, features scenes filmed throughout the city of Philadelphia, but the most famous, by far, is his climb up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art—located at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. You can even snap a photo of yourself next to Rocky himself at the bottom!

goonies house

The Goonies Tour (Astoria, OR)
Run around the oldest town on America’s west coast, just like the goonies did during the 1985 film. The town already offers a preset tour of some of the movie’s most recognizable spots, and a visit in early June means you can catch Astoria’s annual celebration of Goonies Day.

dirty dancing house hotel

Dirty Dancing Hotel (Pembroke, VA)
The fictional Kellerman Resort in the Catskills is actually the Mountain Lake Lodge in the Appalachians of southern Virginia. The hotel offers themed weekends based off the film, as well as an adventure center with a handful of exciting outdoor activities.
