Now in its twenty-third year, Battenfeld’s charms families, not only with its selection of cut your own Christmas trees, custom wreaths, and centerpieces but also with its annual events. Santa is on call to take lists from eager children the weekend after thanksgiving and the first two weekends in December, plus all-day wagon rides throughout the season, and a bagpipe parade.
Williams Tree Farm, Rockton, IL
This expansive farm on the Illinois-Wisconsin border offers much more than a tree cutting adventure. Visitors can explore more than 350 acres of fun, with horse-drawn carriage rides, kids train rides, and a candy shop featuring traditional holiday sweets. The farm’s website also boasts its amazing photo-op opportunities throughout the forests.
Tom Sawyer Tree Farm & Elf Village, Glenville, NC
Overlooking a beautiful lake with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background, this tree farm has its own Elf Village—a series of miniature houses, crafted and designed to look like the North Pole homes of Santa’s tiny helpers. When you’re done checking out the houses, there is also a holiday storytelling center, craft cottage, Santa’s hut, and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.
Owasso Tree and Berry Farm, Owasso, OK
For more than 30 years, the Jacobs family has owned and operated this Christmas tree farm and, in the summer months, pick-your-own berry farm. They have a variety of different trees to choose from, including rarer varieties like Leyland Cyprus, Carolina Sapphire, and Nordman Fir. After tree cutting, guests can hop on a hayride and head to the gift shop for hot apple cider.
