The Hottest Spots for Brunch in Pittsburgh

Warmer weather and lazy weekend mornings are right around the corner. What better way to ring in the dog days of summer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, then heading to some of the best brunch spots in the city?

Meat & Potatoes

Pittsburgh finally got its own gastropub, and what better way to see what it has to offer than with a brunch reservation? You’ll see some classics on the menu—chicken and waffles, huevos rancheros, and stuffed French toast—along with Meat & Potatoes’ own specialty dishes that will have you coming back for more.

Pear and the Pickle

Described as a “modern neighborhood café”, Pear and the Pickle is where you want to venture to for a dynamite breakfast sandwich and reliable cup of coffee. A husband and wife duo run this cozy café, and their passion for making good food shows in every dish that hits the table.

Whitfield

Make sure you’re hungry for brunch at Whitfield, because it’s likely you’ll want to order several things on their standout menu. Located in the Ace Hotel, the city flocks to this trendy restaurant every weekend for a brunch they won’t forget (and their stomachs won’t either).

Acorn

Shadyside is home to Acorn, a small restaurant with a unique menu. Go for the shrimp and grits for something different, the scallion pancake to fulfill both savory and sweet cravings, or matzo ball soup, because why not?

Or, the Whale

This is one brunch spot you won’t want to miss out on. Or, the Whale, labels itself as “farm and fisher to table”, and their menu reflects that. Be sure to make a reservation for this hot spot serving up some delicious pastries and brunch fare.

There are plenty other noteworthy brunch places in Pittsburgh to keep your eye on, like Park Bruges, Federal Galley, and Floor 2, so make some room in your weekend plans to check them all off of your brunch bucket list.
