Traditional popovers are spiced with Moroccan Ras el Hanout—a spice mixture of cardamom, cumin, cinnamon and nutmeg. A light touch of honey really elevate the flavors in this delightful appetizer.
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- In a large bowl, whisk together popover batter ingredients until smooth and blended.
- Grease a large muffin pan with softened butter. Place greased pan in the oven for 2–3 minutes.
- Carefully remove hot pan, and fill pan with batter, filling only half way full. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Drizzle with honey before serving.
Tip: As mush as you would like to… do not peek while the popovers are baking! Keep that oven door closed. Opening the oven door while cooking will cause the popovers to deflate.
